Social Media Challenge Day 4

Lucy Guest Marketing's October Social Media Challenge #4

Post one Story.

On Facebook or Instagram... or both.

Day 4 – Weekend Story Prompt

Let’s keep it simple today. Your task is to post a Story, that’s it!

Stories only stick around for 24 hours, so it’s a chance to be a bit more authentic and less polished.

They’re also a great way to start conversations, people are often much more comfortable replying to a story than commenting on a post.

💬 Just make sure you reply when someone DMs you from your Story. It’s such a good opportunity to build relationships.

Stories also sit right at the top of Instagram, which means they’re easy to spot and don’t get buried in the scroll.

Need ideas? Try one of these:

☕ Your morning coffee

📚 A book or podcast you’re enjoying

🌿 A walk, day trip, or something outdoorsy

🐾 Your pet doing something cute

📷 A little behind-the-scenes moment from your business or life

No pressure, no polish needed, just something that shows a little bit of you.

⭐️ Bonus points if you:

✔️ Tag a relevant account (besides me!)

✔️ Add the location.

We'll cover more about how you can make stories even more engaging and on brand later in the challenge. Today, keep it simple.

Tag me @lucyguestmarketing if you post one — I’d love to see it!

See you tomorrow,

Lucy

Your Marketing Toolbox #2 Are Business Cards Old Fashioned or Underrated? I know business cards can feel a bit old school, but honestly? I still really rate them. When I give someone a card, I notice they’re far more likely to get in touch. And when I meet people at events, I always go through the cards I’ve collected afterwards and follow up, it helps me remember who’s who and start building a proper connection. Hi, Let me tell you a quick story. A few months ago we had a flyer through the door for rubbish collection, nothing fancy, just a simple printout. But, as it happened, we were about to get a new sofa and needed the old one gone. My husband sent them an email. But the follow-up (or complete lack of one) meant...
